Ceramic mushrooms workshop
Come and sculpt your own set of three stoneware ceramic mushrooms
At Upside Down Tree Studio, we are thrilled to announce our upcoming ceramic mushrooms workshop on Sunday 29 September, 10am - 1pm.
In this engaging workshop your skilled instructor, Gina from Seabreeze Ceramics, will guide you through the process of creating your own decorative mushroom sculptures of three styles; a classic Amanita Muscaria toadstool, a lovely plump Porcini and a beautifully textured Morel.
Gina will demonstrate how to sculpt each of these styles, and you may make any combination of three you wish (eg. three toadstools). They will all have your own unique touch!
After the workshop, Gina will take your creations back to her studio to be fired and glazed. She will then return them to Upside Down Tree Studio for you to collect. Please allow around 10 days for this process to be completed as your mushrooms will need to dry out fully before going in the kiln to be fired, and they will require two firings.
Please note the following:
The workshop costs £50 per person and all clay and materials will be provided.
The workshop is ideal for people aged over 15 as you will be using some tools that are sharp.
No ceramic experience is necessary; the workshop will suit anybody from a complete beginner to those who may already have some experience with clay.
It is advised that you wear old clothing that you don’t mind coming into contact with clay.
